As soon as I open up my Command Promt it begins with C:\My Documents and Settings\"My profile name"> How do I get rid of this? I cannot delete these pre things... and I cannot navigate to my Halo ce root directory because my root directory is not stored in this file. Any suggestions?

if you ever want to change it to go back a step, just type cd.. after the directory.

yes but there are countless issues with that program.

I don't really like Hektor. Sometimes I use tool++ if I'm lazy, but I have no problem with just using command prompt.

If you put cmd.exe into your haloce root directory, the command prompt will automatically start with that directory in mind.

HEKter was a weekend project before I really knew much about programming. I was also experimenting with .NET back then. It was more of a command-line builder than a frontend. That's the reason it freezes sometimes when you haven't set things up right and try to compile - it can't intercept information from the tool.exe process that you would normally see in the command prompt window.

Knowing how to use the command prompt will always be better than any GUI - but if you don't know how to use the command prompt, it's at least a good way to get familiar with looking at the commands.
