so i created the map through 3dsmax. i have been following the tutorial videos from this site very closely, just making adjustments to suit my map. it is called spinter. my problem is with tool
i am on tutorial number seven at around 4:12. this is where i have to export the level itself.
i type (in tool, halo main directory thing)
tool structure levels/splinter splinter
i tap enter and this comes up
Couldn't read map file './tool.betamap'
building intermediate geometry...
file_open<'data/levels/splinter/models/splinter.jms'> error 0x00000002 'The system cannot find the file specified. '

What is going wrong?
any and all help is appreciated

http://files2.halomods.com/viewtopic.ph ... light=tool

this is a link for tool++

In my own opinion, its a lot easier to use.

this might help....
good luck!

Is the Splinter.jms file saved in:

data\levels\splinter\models?

If it is, then your command should work perfectly...

i am almost positve it is saved in the data/levels section. i went into data/levlels and saw a folder named splinter with the bitmaps and shaders inside it.
im trying to use Tool++ now
im not sure what to do though. i clicked on structure then the 3 little dots and chose the splinter file from the tags section. but i dont know what to put for the bsp name. i put splinter for the bsp because i didnt know what else to do and got this:
building intermediate geometry...

Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'

file_open('data\levels\splinter\models\splinter.jms') error 0x00000002 'The system cannot find the file specified. '

the same happened when i chose the spinter file under data/levels

the bsp name is just the EXACT SAME NAME of your. jms file. So if your .jms file was splinter.jms, the bsp name would be splinter

it HAS TO BE THE SAME name of your JMS file, or it will NOT WORK!

good luck

inside the splinter folder, did you create a folder called "models"?

Inside the models, that's where you save your .jms. Then, compile like normal! Same stuff you typed before.
