after hours of radiosity, i finally get a glimpse of my work, and i get problems. its as though a monkey portalled my map. but the thing is that there are no portals whatsoever. the probllem isnt even just in one area. it seems like everywhere there are parts popping in and out depending on where im looking.
i can have a pic of what im talking about in a few mins.
face count: 41,888 (oops... is that too many?)
great... now that i see my poly count im guessing that the finished one will have around 100,000. is there a big problem w/ that?...
ah! random parts of my level randomly disappear!

yep im 100% sure. ive only added 1 portal to any level in my life... and that was months ago. but im gonna fool around with adding some portals. see if that makes it work. i figured that if the problem looks like portals, then maybe if i set up some portals the right way then it will know how to act

Portals are special geometry placed in a map to "hide" that area when looking away from it.
There are two types:
Portals
and
Exact Portals
Exact Portals basically cover like a door or a small area
A Portal covers an entire section of a map.
Exact Portals work like 10x better, and are 10x to use.
Portals are work like 10x worse, because of problems in cutting off part of the map till you get there, BUT, if you get a hang of it, they can be better than Exact Portals.
I prefer Exact a lot more than normal
