when ever i get a gun ingame and there is a seperate part. lets say the clip. it is always placed really low ingame but if import the gbx into max its fine so i have to make all the animations and place the clip up higher so its good ingame. does anyone know how to fix this?

You have them linked properly? I think this can happen if they are not all linked to the frame node, for example, if you link the clip to the gun instead of the frame it might not position correctly.
Just a guess, but I am often lucky.

hmm, can you post some screenshots (not renders) of ingame and in max?
Also have you checked the linking heirachy?
Does it have an animation? If so are you exporting on frame 1?

yeah ill get some renders. maybe do u have to link the mag to the gun? adn it does this with pistols also when i have the blowback on the top. like my glock the slide really low so in max i had to put it really high when i was animating

Maybe you should try linking the objects to the main weapon mesh, like the handle, It is most probably a linking problem but I am no expert with halo modding.

well i tried and you cant link something to 2 objects.
here are some pics
see in max it looks fine (i hid the markers, i atached the frame clip to the clip and then the frame clip to the frame gun then i atached the frame gun to the gun and exported.)
but in halo its all messed up (and yes i know the texture isnt on the gun i didnt apply the shader_model to the gbx model.

Just link every seperate pard of the gun to a main part of the gun only, then link the main part of the gun to the frame node.
