I am trying to get fog under the water, but I can't get it to work. The material name is "water!$" (withput the quotes). Then when I start sapien sapien shuts down. Then I put a fog tag and sapien still shuts down. Sapien will only start up when the material name is "water!" but then there is no fog. Does anyone see a mistake that I made? Please help me out. Thanks!

emm its not your tag that has a problem... thats all wat i know. cauz my 1st map, when i tryed to open it in sapien i was closing... try to open the tutorial.scenario and if i doesent work, then its your sapien that is fucked. then reinstall halo ce and hek then it will open the scenarios (it worked for me)

why do you want fog under water?

don't you need to add the "$" after the "water!" in MAX? So it would be "water!$"

I know it needs the "$" to have fog, but I am saying that sapien won't start if that is put in the material name.

if your fog doesn't work and sapien keeps closing, then you have to go to gorilla, open the scenario tag, and delete any fog palets. then delete your bsp file and restructure you map (with the water! changed to water!$). Then run radiosity again, and it should work. just make sure you do your fog right this time, or it become a hassle.
