bitmap help

ive been using paint shop pro for making my ground textures for my map and everything but now my trials up and i have to use gimp 2.0 but i have a problem

for an example when i make a texture thats grass with dirt paths running through it, the dirt looks like brown grass

and i no this is because of the mask and alpha channels(dont really understand how that part works...) anyway i knew how to do that in paint shop pro but i cant figure it out in gimp so.... can someone help me out? :?

Your lucky. I cant even get my grass to show up like that.... :roll:

Anyways, go back into guerilla and open up your shader_environtment tag.

Under the first box for your bitmaps - select your map_ground bitmap.
Under the second box - select what you want the part that you did NOT paint your area with alpha channel.
under the 3rd box - select what you want the part that you DID paint the alpha channel.
