i tried making the collision model a box that was about the same size but that didn't work out.......my biggest question is....can i even make this work without drastacly changing my friends model.....?

First off, the collision looks to complex. And those degenerite trangles need to be fixed. Remember, a collision model is simple. So a box edited to fit the car roughly should do the job. And fix those edges that wouldnt update and apply the matirieal collision-geometry to the collision.

ok i made a box thats pretty close to the size of the car but it still won't work in game......but i don't know if its because of the model itself or if its because of the collision-geometry......heres what happened in sapien.......could someone polease walk me through this?
