Help needed...

Post by MasterNeoChief »

The truth will be revealed here...

I never made a map or tag! :D
So, I've made a TIF file, which is the format needed for Tool to recompile it into an bitmap, right?

So when I try to recompile, I get to the tool stuff.

How do I use it properly? It says:"tool verb <option>"
The option I need is bitmap source-file.
So I type "tool verb bitmap <the directory, then the filename>" Without the quotes (I've changed the stuff because it's private)
When I do, it says it can't find the path, when I know it's there. I even copied the file into the CMD, which gives the path! (I deleted the quotes with that though)

So, any help?

command=

tool bitmaps levels\******\bitmaps

the "******" represents your map name. If you are just trying to make a bitmap, then just make the level directory anyway, because i don't know any other way. Tool automatically assumes your in the data directory so your best bet is to do that.

Actually. Make a folder under:
c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition\data

Make a folder called "bitmaps" so nowyou will be in:
c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition\data\bitmaps

so to get tool there you can type (after placing the .tif file into the bitmaps folder)

tool bitmaps bitmaps

although, i'm not sure if that will work, but try anyway, i'll go try.

Yay! Thanks Pie. ;)

Edit: Another question. I have about 3 models, all different LoD. How do you insert that into Halo CE? Do you have to compile them with tool like a regular model?
