Sapien and Gmax?

Can Sapien be run not only in 3ds Max but also in Gmax? It is, after all, only a cut - down 3ds Max, basically...

I mean Gmax is a cut down version

I'm sorry - but I can not notice a single difference between Gmax and 3DS besides the name! And it costs $3000 more for the "better" one!
