GOD! I cannot get tool to compile this sound. I made a 16-bit Stereo PCM Wave file in the sound\test\test directory called test.wav. I typed this:
tool.exe sounds sound\test\test platform xbox (I have the xbox wav codec)
It made the test.sound file, but it doesn't have any sounds in it! And, I found out that I can make a .sound file anywhere! I made one on my characters folder, where there are no sound files in sight! HELP!!
tool, sounds, wtf?
Make sure you make a folder called test and inside that make another folder with the same name as the sound you have, put the sound in that folder (directory should be.. sounds\test\soundname\soundname.wav) and once you have that in place run this.
Tool.exe sounds sound\test xbox 1
make sure you download the xbox codec or it will not work.
And dont worry if it says 0kb saved, just go into guerilla and open your sound, goto the bottom and press the play button next to the box with numbers in and if it does'nt have any numbers then it has'nt exported, and dont forget to change your sound type to ambient nature if your unsure of what to put it as.

No matter what i try for format (8bit/16bit, 11Khz/22Khz/44Khz, mono/stereo, pcm/non-pcm) i keep getting this:
Importing sound\MySound
fixed corrupt tag enum field (sample rate*).
the sound tag 'sound\MySound' may be corrupt.
I have the xbox codec and set to priority 1, folders and file-name are correct but all i get is a file with a size of 300 bytes.. with no sound in it (checked with guerilla)

Anyone knows what's wrong ?

When it comes to sounds EAX doesn't affect the placement of sounds. That has to do with Sapien. EAX just makes the sounds higher quality and surround-sound like. But different sounds in different locations are dealt with in Sapien. Place a sound in Sapien. For instance, place a echo sound in a tunnel and a humming bird sound outisde. Compile and run the map. Walk into the tunnel and you will hear the echo sound.... walk outside and you will hear birds. Simple. Just like placing scenery or vehicles, etc.
