Well the program which you will need, all depends on what you wish to record. If you want to record onscreen activity, then you will need camtasia.

Mabey I can ask a question for a change(Im not perfect.)
When Im recording of my xbox in Windows Movie maker, I cant hear sound, and the screen is 1" by 1"
Is there anyway to fix this?

it lags the game, and this is for a new virsion of halo coming out...Halo Se, I am a beta tester for it, and I have to make a video demo for the demo!

1.Halo Se, it is not a bungie making thing, bungie know about it.
I am a beta tester for it, a person who comes up with ideas for it, voice over (1 line lol) and how do you know where I work?
2. I have a fucken awesome computer!
3.it is my video card, I am getting a 9600 pro next month!

Well than until you get a better vid card, you cant record Halo. And if you were making a movie on something that big. They would want a high end card

I will just use fraps, sure it is laggy, but it still works!
