Nuke missile

Hey

I saw the movie of the NUKE missile and Id like to do that. :shock: But I dont know what offsets to change and export to do that. So if anyone knows how to do that pleaz help me! thanks!! :D

Ok firstly you will need HMT3

and some breif knowledge on it

In the thread about beta testing a mod, download that - it's a zipped Blood Gulch map. The nuke effects are all finished in that.

If you want to do it yourself, refer to the thread below called 'A Nuke!' that explains how to build the explosion from the Maw into a map. Then you need to use HMT3 to change the radius, force, and damage of the grenade or missile explosion. Finally you will want to change the force of the shockwave as well (that's what makes vehicles move after the explosion).

I got HMT3 but i dont know what offsets to change (i know the base of hexs).

i've gotten it to work (edit damage)
but can you make the explosion bigger?

Looks like we had the same idea dalecooper.

The explosions from the maw work great for nuke effects, although I had to edit their meta quite a bit to make them look right and to get their timing right while still retaining the nice lens flare effects. I also had to edit the debris and some other things that just didn't fit.

Once I release my mod, I may start working on an effe plugin for HMT to allow for easier effect modding.

I dled your map from your other thread and it's cool. :)

That's cool. I never got quite that in-depth with it, although I may yet... the mod that I posted is the rough draft, so to speak.

Thanks! I was trying to find a way to make the pistol effective without being a kick-ass explosive like the other weapons in the mod. That idea came to mind, and I think it works pretty well. I also like the upgraded needler/plasma rifle... it's really TOO effective, but it's funny to see people pinballing over the map when the needles start exploding.

I have a question about HMT. Is it possible to upgrade it to batch extract from custom maps? I ask b/c with a mod like this, there's no way I want to go back and redo all the work - but it seems like I can't batch extract it any more, so there's no way to bring in textures/effects from other maps. (I'm working on a new mod now that is a snow-covered Death Island with some altered weapons, and I made sure to import everything I might possibly want in advance.)
