HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

A Halo modding competion would, in my opinion be cool. I figure it could happen at a regular interval and go something like this:
-Thread started up with the theme\restrictions, people make mods.
-A panel of judges cuts through the crap and gives a final list of mods to be voted on which is agreed to by the public.
-Voting starts. Winner gets either fame or some kind of donated prize (Eltie modder status maybe?)

I'd be willing to administrate something like this, and come up with the themes, provideed there is an interest. Plus, how long should something like these take? Should it be monthly, weekly, what?

Let me know if you're interested. If not, let the thread die. Or flame. *Shrugs*

its interesting but things like these have been posted before so i doubt peeps would join. Also they have mod of the month contests allready

True, but these would be theme mods, which would put people under limitations and, hopefully, bring out creativity.

ya but all im saying is that i doubt this will happen. this is what mod of the month awards are for.

this would be a mini-compition then, cause some people aren't as good as the people who make motm mods.

if this does grow/happen, im in.

Cool. I see it as a way for n00bs to get in on the action too, though the big modders won't be disqualified, some of the n00bs will have a chance.

Maybe I should make the finalists write a summary (Not a tutorial) of what they had to do. So people could learn from them.

and give the judges the actual mod, so they can play it.

People will be posting the actual mod. And the final vote shall be by the people.

dont need em. u can make the worlds crapiest mod but as long as u got friends theres nothin to it lol

I'm referring to a competition where people would judge you.

I'm well aware that a crappy mod can be horrendously fun (Remembering the offset swapping days...), but these mods should really stand out from the pack. Unless there is an offset swapping theme one week. Anyways, I'm working on the first theme.

sounds neat, but the motm thing should have different divisions, like grunt, jackal, elite and hunter (what do those things mean anyway, and how do they get raised? y'know, from elite to hunter and stufff?)

Well I got though some stuff with HEK and HMT and w/e.
I do pretty good.
Except idk how to put mutiple vechiles rebuilded in the map.
When I do BOOM!Mr.E comes.
Thats the only noobish question I got is how to fix it.

By posts, you turn into a jackal when you reach 100 posts. 500 for hunter. 1000 for elite.

But post rank don't show how good a modder is.
