classic maps - heavies

I want a map without any heavy weapons, are there any available? I don't want silly teleports everywhere -- just the same maps without heavy weapons.

You can take them out or swap them out for whatever you choose.

I downloaded sparkedit and spent ages deleting all the heavies. I saved it as compressed about 4 hours ago and it still hasn't saved. What should i be doing to edit maps?

Don't save as compressed, unless you are on Xbox.

I got around to uploading it. I uploaded it as deathisland_nonheavy.MAP and put this in init.txt:

sv_mapcycle_add deathisland_nonheavy ctf

But it just skips the map. What am i doing wrong?

Yeah, dont change the name, or else halo won't recognize it.

But i want to keep the origenal. I don't want only non-heavy. Can't i do that?

Just do what everyone else said. Jeez, is it really that hard?

Go into spark edit, and delete heavy weapon spawns. If you join a game with heavys, they will be there, but if you start a game they won't.

I have done that. I think you're getting a bit confused. I'll break it down.

I want death island with no heavy weapons

I can't change the name of the map, so can't have both

Both in your main map cycle? Well that's easy, just do the add_map command or whateverand add two dangercanyon map cycles ( I haven't had my dedicated server up in a year ) and use gametypes instead of spawns.

Isn't there a gametype that gets rid of heavies?
And if you want this done, just open up sparkedit and get rid of everything you don't want yourself.

You're not reading what i'm saying. I have a map with no heavies but i want to use both that and a regular map in the same mapcycle.

Unless you're new to computers, you'll know you can't have two of the same filename in the same directory.

Or just move the weapons in sparkedit below the bsp of the map...

I know you can't have two files in the same directory. You're the one that's not reading.

Wake up. We are all telling you to do it with gametypes, not map files outside the server ui.

i was just thinking that, why is this guy editing a map when he can just make a gametype? lol, seems a bit daft...
