It installs fine up till it copies the sounds.map file (75 %), then says disk error when copying, blah blah blah. The file is not in use by any processes, the drive im installing it on is by far not out of space (over about 476 gigs to go), and i removed everything halo related to try and get it to install. (Well, moved most of it into a sub folder for backup and rar'd it, then deleted the old files)
Is there a specific reason it does this? I can't even get it to work off the direct setup.exe file on the disc >.>
help meeee
thanks
(btw, I had to make a new account beause i couldnt log into my old one, the Kitsune † one... <.<, sorry about that)

ya...it's better if you give the full error not just blah blah blah...and be specific. which disk...hard drive disk, compact disk that it's on?

Its on an external hard drive, it was working fine for months until recently.
The error was this: "Disk problem when copying sounds.map, make sure the file is not in use and the disk is not full.

I don't think its the HD, but i will try the default installation tomorrow (on the main C drive)
btw, no its not split up, I am the only owner of this PC. The only thing close I have to that is an ubuntu partition which i don't think will effect it.

Well, if you really want, buy a new halo disk and see if that works.

I hate it when stuff like that happens.
My CD drive just broke and I have to use daemontools to run Halo :P
