Adding rain to a level

Hey guys im trying to add rain to my conversion and i need alot of help. I know this has been done before and i have used mr.search but it is not that helpful. I recursively extracted swamp bugs and rain.rain.meta from c10.map, then i changed the folder hierarchy so it would correspond with my new level. I rebuilt the map and it was successful. Now i just need to know how to get the rain to show ingame. ive searched forever but cant find the right offset in hex to edit. could someone plz help?

thx but ive already read that and i still cant figure out the last step that tells you to change certain bytes in hex. Im not sure where to look.

you only need to change some hex if you're importing rain into a level without rain or snow.
