I was trying to install HaloCE, but somehow part of my cd key got ripped off. I have most of it, i think i'm only missing one fourth of it, but that one fourth is just as important as the rest. On the bottom it says something about a cd set, do you think i could somehow get my cd from bungie? or look somewhere on my computer?

Sweet. I remember that i made a copy of my case and it had the cd key on it, but i can't find it :( . Oh well.

Edit: For some reason, when i put halo in, it doesn't do autorun. I have to go to the icon to start it. Is there someway to change this?

Edit...again: NM, i figured it out. ty ang88.

Preetish wrote:Hello Duffmn04,

Thank you for using Microsoft Games Online Support. My name is Preethish and I
will be helping you today with "Halo: Combat Evolved".

I understand that while installing Halo CE you have realized that the CD Key
provided along with Halo PC Combat Evolved is torn, due to which you are unable
to complete the installation process.

Duffmn04, I can co-relate to your concern here and would provide you with the options
to get around this issue.

Please note that Microsoft Games Product Support Services is available to help
you resolve Technical Problems with Setup, Graphics or Sound issues. Due to this
reason let me try my level best to address the issue.

Also note that though we can find the product ID there is no association between
the CD key and product ID due to which I may be unable to regenerate your
product key. Hence please go through the following suggestions.

Suggestion 1:

In order to be able to play the game at the earliest contact the point of
purchase to receive a replacement disc. This is the fastest way to receive a
replacement. You would then receive a new CD Key, which can be used to complete
the installation.

Suggestion 2:

You may also be able to get a replacement CD by contacting our Order Desk by
calling the toll free phone number: 1-800-360-7561. They will be glad to offer
assistance.

Suggestion 3:

If you have any issues with obtaining an exchange from the retailer, you might
want to return the game directly to Microsoft. This consumer product has a
Microsoft 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. If you desire, you may get a refund for
this product by contacting our Product returns department. For inf
ormation on obtaining a refund for the product, please visit the North American
Returns website located at:

http://www.microsoft.com/info/nareturns.htm

Though there are a few guidelines on product returns, I'm confident that genuine
claims will be honored. For refund related enquiries, please call
1-888-673-8624.

With the refunded amount, you may be able to purchase another copy of the game.

Suggestion 4:

If any of your friends/relatives have purchased the game then go ahead and use
the CD-Key available with them to install it on your computer.

Suggestion 5:

If you would like to obtain a new CD key, you will have to contact the Order
desk at 1-800-360-7561 after Monday. They will charge you 10$. Please note that
I do not have enough information regarding this re-generation of the product
key. It could be possible that the CD-Key you would receive is no
t valid for use.

For further queries regarding the same or replacement of the game, you will
still have to contact order desk. Please contact Order desk at 1-800-360-7561.

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with. I am looking
forward to your response and thank you again for using Microsoft Online Assisted
Support.
