Xbox ADPCM codec & Win98se...

Has anyone gotten the Xbox ADPCM codec to work on a win 98 system? I install it without any errors, but it just doesn't show up on my codec list and I can't load xbox wav sound files. Is there some way around this that wouldn't need the codec at all? Any help would be appreciated.
