In HMT it is characters\cyborg\bitmaps\cyborg
Extract it, then edit it in Photoshop.

Isn't it the same thing as the regular armor?

Im not sure if this is what you want to know... but here goes.
the cyborg.dds texture is used though everything like multiplayer and singleplayer, it is grey or white so that the colour can be overlayed on it in the game, i dunno where it does it or how but it puts a colour overlay type thing over the whole texture depending on what colour you are eg: red or blue... so i dont know how to change the colours but it wont work with cyborg.dds unless you have bad grahpics and it shows up grey anyway... the best way to edit it is maybe do something that will work with all the colours... so it still has grey bits on it and they will come out as colour does in the games... correct me if im wrong.

I ment to reply to this sooner.. sorry.
Ok, you need the 60 plug in pack for HMT. Then go down into the [soso] tag and you'll see things for armor, visor, hands and what not. Then theres some setting like A,B,C,D and none. Play with thoes settings and you'll see the effects it does. Also that is the shader model tag for things such as what your looking to do with this it seems. Theres also offset numbers for various things as well so testing things in that tag branch is going to lead you in the right direction.
Also, the multi on the chief is regulated in game and can control aspects of what will be seen team color wise and what wont. Judging by the master chief skin you posted in the downloads section I think you have a firm grip on how that works or your heading in the right direction at least.
