Does anybody know how to edit shaders? or of a tutorial that tells you how?
What program do i need to open them?
Are they part of bitmaps? or an actual map for eg.. bloogulch?
Can they be opened up in photoshop or anything like that and be changed?

most shaders are just a reflection on what their bitmaps are corresponding to them. it would help alot if you were to elaberate on what specific shaders your looking to change or what your wanting to do. for example if your stroll through some of the shader branches you will see many of them are the names of bitmaps. some shaders in say the unknown pc shader branch have the bitmap plus their animation tied to them. by editing the bitmap that is involved with that shader you will in turn change how the shader looks. the ones in shader environment are typically the shader/bitmap joined together for placement if need be for a swap of some sort. the glass branch is pretty self explanatory i think. each shader also has a set of settings depending on what plugins you have for hmt and can be edit or manipulated in various ways through thoes.

its hard to give a core example of what everything does since the topic is so vast but maybe dropping a idea of what you want to accomplish will help find a better answer for your situation.

or it could be 2:12am and im dead tired and dont know what i talking about and just ranking. =/
