Just when I thought I got it right..

Ok, to start over again, I started doing some PMI'ing
I got an exception

Heres what I PMI'd
Pelican
C-dropship (that includes the gun, of course)
Wraith
Log
Stump
Grey Boulder
Steel Tall
Steel Wide
Steel Small
Hanging vines
Crashed Pelica
Crashed C-dropship

Then I...
Swapped the log out with a C-dropship, swapped the stump out with a Pelican, and swapped the grey boulder out with a wraith, renamed each's seats, and put in a crashed C-dropship.

So, why am I getting an exception?

Well, I think I know why.

Here's what I do when I PMI

The scenery doesn't matter, don't touch it.

The vehicles however, open your rebuilt map in HMT, and use the 3 tag classes at the top right to change all the new vehicles to "scen obje yyyy"

Open the map in sparkedit, import all the new tags, then go to the "Edit" and "Scenery", click some random scenery, duplicate it, and swap the clone with a pelican or something. Do that with everything else.

If you still come up with an exception, you screwed up.

A tip:

When you are finished placing your new vehicles, open the map in HMT, then change the scenery vehicles BACK to vehicles:

"vehi unit obje" for quick and easy tag editing

Ok, good if that works.

Cus I got another pretty exeption error.

But, one problem. When I change them to scenery and put em in Sparkedit, even after importing them as scenery, they come in as vehicles, so I can't swap 'em with scenery. Help please

Have you already imported them as vehicles before?

Yes....
I'll start over again sometime later.....

No dice

I know you well enough that you don't have to double post.

EDIT:Ahhh Sublminal Message ^^^^^^^^^^^

JK I know what that means.

I did it to bring attention to the matter.

Then you did something wrong during the PMI process itself.

Not that I know of. I decrapped everything, I put in the sbsp.meta, and the models all check out in sparkedit. I just don't get it.

IDK, I'll try and rebuild it without the metal panels from carasaol (pardon my spelling).

EDIT: still no dice

Say, when I rebuild with the C-dropship, do I put in the gun weap.meta in the new items?

please, please remember its not how many things you can PMI into a map but what your PMI'ing that makes a mod stand out. the only reason im saying this is that im seeing alot of the same things from your last mods and i dont want to see you upset again if people say things to you like..

"its been done way many times before"

you really need to think outside the box to impress ppl these days or you need to make sure the things that are "tried and true" PMI'd items are used very useful in your mod.

want a example of what im speaking of?
heres a new beta pic for the new redux..

do you see what im saying?

To answer your question SL!P, you should remember this.

If it is a vehicle, add its "vehi" meta. Nothing else.
If its a weapon, add its "weap" meta. Nothing else.

So on and so forth.

1>I didn't PMI any powerups
2>I'm just starting, and the first thing is to add the vehicles and fix them
BTW, you can PMI that ship?
3>Yes, I'm only selecting the scen.meta for the scenery, the vehi.meta for th vehicles, and the weap.meta for the weapons

Hey, I think...
Do you have to put the C_dropship_gun.weap.meta in the new items folder??

You don't need a 'new items' folder. Put everything in the same folder.
Also, can you tell me what you do when HMT asks you for the new verticies and indicies during rebuild?
