so i havent posted any pics for this in the other WIP cause i was constantly changing things and what not. i finally have a stable beta for this and im finally going to release some pics of what ive been working on.

back story:
when redux was released it got alot of hype, but also people downed it as a "skin" mod also. i wanted to take what redux had and do some actual modding into it with PMI and so forth. there have been alot of changes in gameplay for both SP and MP. i had to play stock halo not to long ago and i barely was able to play stock vs this. most of the maps have had some PMI work done to them with a few exceptions. some maps simply would not let you rebuild and go into a lobby server with that rebuilt map. for thoes maps i tried to enhance the visual look of them with new bitmaps and lighting. some maps in this include icefields, wizard, sidewinder, timberland, chillout and a few others. during the WIP stages people tried also and for some reason it just couldnt be done. maybe someone will unlock the key to it but as of now it isnt happening on my end.

programs used for this are the following:
hmt - bitmap injection and various plugins
patrick_h's RGB converter - for getting the right colors for fog/skys/water
eschanton - everything else

mainly shouts go out to the xfire nighttime modding crew. this being andrew, homies, malolo, mod bob, patrick_h with guests including ups and conure. thx for the feedback and goodtimes making this mod bearable to deal with.

pictures:
well, i only have one, but its hella big. screens were taken on a evga 6800GS running full settings. average frames per map about 55+. this was done for the purpose of people not saying my 8800 is to good and stuff.

Anyways, pepsi, I have to say from the pictures of the single player maps, I love 'em! The multiplayer maps are cool as well, but I'd like to play the SP maps more.


I only have one suggestion: is the hovering vehicles. They look lifeless, maybe if you could somehow get them to fly around a bit, it'd be a definite hit (even more).

Awesome job, and keep up the Directors Cut.

P.S. Is this going to be your last "Redux or Pepness project"?

tried this like a month ago. its called "active scenery". now i did this and it was awesome! i had all the vehicles on death island flying around and looked like nothing i had seen in halopc before.

but heres the catch...

when you do active scenery you have to sacrifice a item in game for that scenery to take place in. you also have to set a spawn point for it. while this worked awesome in my home server, when i joined a lobby server i watched my ships fly by and was great. then they respawned to do the same thing and i excepted out of game.

to my knowledge there is no way to have active scenery on a map and still be able to join a lobby server with that map. it just wasnt happening. the point of the mod is to have it 100% friendly across all playing fields and what i have now accomplishes that. it hurts alot not being able to but hey, you lick your wounds and move on ya know?

am i done after this?
no. im moving on to CE finally and going to start creating custom maps. with harbinger finally released i found the thing that lets me enjoy everything CE has but playable on PC. i just dont like CE's load times. nothing personal to it. i have a few ideas for some maps and want to give them a shot.

no, i totally forgot about it. send me a pm with what to do again and ill give it a go. either that or just convert this instead.

This is going to make me beat singleplayer again, lols.


but pepsi, how about this, for the active scenery, you do this:

Use HHT or Eschaton to make all of a grenade's properties to that of a rocket. (including coll, mod2, etc.)

Swap the rocket launcher's proj tag to the grenade.

Then, edit the speed of the projectile to the desired speed.

Change the rocket into an eqip tag, create a spawn for it in sparkedit, then swap it's mod2 with the Pelican's mod2. maybe even it's collision model.

or duplicate an object, and give that have that object be the active scenery. It's not hard at all, and I'm sure it would still work, right?

I don't think it's in the beta yet, last MP map i think to be added.

to all the comments on active scenery..

you cant have it in a map then expect to play that map online in a lobby server. you will except cause of the spawns. did anyone even read what i said to bunny?
