I looking for a way to change the depth of field/field of view exactly to the way it is in Halo Combat Evolved for the Xbox, also Im looking for a way to force wide screen too. All the things I have searched relating to a FOV change are for third person, and thats not what I want. Is there like a file or cfg I can alter to change it?.

those examples show nothing of a FOV change.
but you can use YeloBattery if you want. Just google it if you're interested.

actually they do change the FOV of the player it is wider and you can see more of each of the guns.
if you are on mac get Eschaton if on PC get HMT then go to the camera tag and the then biped camera then you can edit the number i recommend you put is at like 50 so then you know that you are going to get the widest possible view.

Thanks, do you know what value the xbox was set to? (
example), its just a peeve of mine, I really don't want an advantage by getting the widest view, I just want it to look more like it was on the xbox. Also how would I force wide screen where the hud doesn't get smushed. Thanks again

you need a widescreen monitor, and yelo battery with "HUD Scaling" enabled.

bunny stop, please, i have done what he is talking about before and i cannot use yelo's battery thing. i know what i am talking about.
@ Wolf if you set it to be 50 it will not matter, because the max it can do is the one that was on the xBox. this means that if you put in a higher value it will only be able to go up the the highest settable value being the xBox one.

try this: forget yelo...
get HMT and go go into the biped branch. Find camera field of view, and change it to 1.9999. That should look pretty close.

Alright thanks for all the help guys. I really did not want to use Yelo because I use Fraps and Xfire, and it has conflicts with them.

Okay, I downloaded HMT and I can't find camera view under the biped branch [bipd] I can only change the jumping/standing/couching height and height change speed.

Go to the bipd tag and change the field of view to 1.4, then it should look more like to Xbox HUD. Also, the FOV can only go up to 1.5....

it can go up to 1.99999
anything over 2 will screw up 2x magnification.
for wolvenrage: changing the fov for a vehicle requires tag editing for "trak"
