My problem is basically that im a noob. Ive made heaps of fully textures maps with gmax, exported them using chimp, so they are in .jms format. After this i have problems. I don't know what programs to use to import vehicles, weapons, teleporters etc and am in need of a good set of programs to change weapon properties/skins. If anyone could give me a decent list of programs (preferably with links to download sites) that will do the things above and other things if they are important, as well as some good tutorials (video or picture if possible) i would be really greatfull.

Halo Map Tool ( HMT ) is the program that you need, it can inject/extract textures/models/... of weapons/ground/bipeds/...

It can also change properties of weapons and all the other stuffs ( rate of fire, accuracy, damage per hit... ), also player's speed/height...

And a lot more. You can find tutorials for it there.

But you'll need another program to convert into dds format ( the format of the skins ), and i can't even remember the usualy used program. I know DXTBMP, but it's not the best for that.

Ok, to skin you need the following. :D

HMT (Halo Map Tools)

Adobe Photoshop

.dds extension for Photoshop

You export the textures using HMT, screw with them on Photoshop, ans then put them back into the map using HMT.

This should be in the CE section. Spikes is right, download the HEK if you want to be making new maps.

I have now got HMT, HEK, but i still need a program for converting jms maps.

Will toolrunner do?

I also already have photoshop and am now looking for a dds extension for it, althought I could still use a couple of tutorials.
