Browsing through bitmaps.map

Is there a way to open "bitmaps.map" and replace the .dds files by hand? Without Halo Map Tools? Because, I really don't like doing it with Halo Map Tools, the program is too buggy, it always crashes...but if it's the only way, I'll do it that way =D

So, is there a program that will let me view inside bitmaps.map?

As far as I know, the only way to edit the dds' is through hmt, although I do not know if there is a separate application for PC (I'm on mac). Hope this helps, but don't take my word for it, I haven't looked at PC apps ever.

Well, you can't without HMT or, maybe haven't looked HHT. It is the full bitmaps.map file there though. So, I don't see why you don't like it.

Yea, i knew it was the only way...

And the reason i dont like using hmt for that is because when i click certain bitmaps, i get a friendly error message and it exits...
