Bubble Shield Idea

I just had a really good idea on how to do this without using CE. I'll post back saying whether or not it worked.

Even if it does work it wont be perfect. You won't be able to walk in and out, but it will definatly block bullets. And Grenades. And anything else.

EDIT: I might need a slight bit of help with this. If I make a weapon shoot out an object, How could I make that object dissapear after -x- seconds.

for the -x- time - idk , but for the first we with kirby make shield grenade.He make it and i convert it with his permision.if you want i might post it.But better wait for pm7 beta.

I've seen your shield grenade and I really like it, I just feel that It's too small and too difficult to use, that's why I'm trying to do this. And im really against using CE tags mainly because I never used CE and dont like borrowing other people's work, so I want to try to do this whole thing using just PC.

Im assuming I'd need to spawn the [itmc] tag. Would that work? :Goes to Test:



Edit: Ok, So far so good with that, The only problem is that i need to figure out how to fix collision model. I read through the "Ultimate Collision Model" topic, but that didnt help much and i also noticed it was posted in 2004, so i figured maybe we had a bit more knowledge on it now?

Make it shoot out a weapon...not an itmc, but a weapon.

Ok, I actually already did that, and it shoots out what i wanted to jsut fine, i edited the XYZ coordnates so it spawns at the right spot, now i just need to know how to edit the collision model. Does anybody know how to do this?

hmm , ok i can resize the shield grenade , but there is a problem - how can i make you to move inside and outside it.

kirby made it spawn a piece of scenery around the place the nade exploded. You weren't able to walk though it,but it blocks bullets etc. It dissappeared after 4-5 seconds because he attached health to it, and made an effect that exploded after 4-5 seconds linked to the scenery (so the effect kills the scenery).

Voila, that's the kirby_422 Ce way

so , how do i remove the effect.Idk thats just a bug:when i played tutorial compied map and i tested it i threw it somehow and it didnt exploded.It stayed there whole hour and i waited for its explode , but it still didnt explode...its some kinda bug , but idk how do i did it.

Bad converting is why it doesn't explode anymore.

I have seen this done... It's pretty cool. Have the weapon shoot out a bullet with the mod2 of a rock, reskin it to be clear, make the speed of the proj 0 or even negative, then make the life really long. There might have been a few other things he did... Flames still go through it. It was a beta of a new Mac Demo mod.

Mod2 only is the model. You need a collision aswell ;).
Might work if you add the collision in HHT

This was a demo mac map, he couldn't have used HHT... but wait, if you are referring to a d-swappuh, nearly every single mac app has one...

Thats what I did, I had a gun shoot a rock out, after i edited the model to be a big half dome, gave it a proj. speed of zero, except when i go to shoot something inside it, it doesnt stop because of the collision model being too small.

Andrew_b thank's for the offer, but I just wanted to see whether or not I could make this work, now that I know it will I'm satisfied. I only make a mod to find out that I could have done it, and then i abandon it. haha.

Yeah I know. If you want to I'll send you the model I made, I was just saying that I had lost interest in making the shield. I had read pheonix's topic about the...?pm7?....shield and wondered how I could do it without CE tags, and I thought of the scenery blocking stuff. Now that I figured out the idea would work with lots of help from you, I don't have an interest in making it anymore, I just wanted to know if it would work, I never really wanted to get too into it.

Like i said if you still want me to send you the model I made, no problem. Tell me and I'll upload it somewhere.
