Custom maps on multiplayer

Can someone tell me how to play on custom maps on multiplayer because i have an AI map that i want to play but if i put it into the map folder and try play it i either wont be able to see the map as a selection or it wont load the map and it will freeze my computer can someone please help me

Halo PC...Retail version
Halo CE...version that is Custom Edition. You need a retail version of PC to get CE.
CE can be download here in the ce section

i have another problem now. Every time i put a custom map in the halo CE map folder it wont start up and it comes up with an error message saying the map is corrupted. It happened to more that 1 map is there a way to fix this?

I am on a mac i moved to Halo CE recently and it runs just fine but is laggy but anyway I convert the maps i make so they work on halo pc retail version. i am working on some halo 2 maps atm

Whats retail?? anyway if the mpas corrupted it is try again thats all i think you can do.
