Ok so iv had halo pc for a while and iv learned only the most basic of mods. The problem is, when i start an internet game noone joins. I think it was because they couldn't. My friend saw my game and tried to join and it kept trying to let him join but it had to retry connecting instuff.
The Question is how do i make it so my computer can run a server?

If you want other people to be able to join then don't change stuff with HMT, Until you learn what can and can't sync over the internet only use sparkedit, or send your friend the map file you have.

YEAH BUT...

Ok then, make sure you have you firewall to give full access to Halo PC, and The Gamespy Arcade. If these aren't open you can't host a game.

i have the exact same problem, and a solution. but solution no work for me because my ISP is "Special".

port forwarding. you will not find any simple explanation about it. what basically happens is: when people connect to a server, they connect to your ISP. you want to put yourself in front of your ISP (take the bullet) so they connect to you instead. however, they still will connect thru your ISP.

anyway, i forgot what to do. but there is a guide about it for WinXP.. idk what to do for my comp cuz im Win2k. gimme a minute, ill get out the guide.

okay, no guide. i deleted my history... now i dont remember.

anyway, figure out how to port forward somehow, look for a guide. then PM me how. also, it may be because youre running the server in Halo. there is actually a dedicated server for halo.
