a few months ago i gotHMT and modded alot. then i stopped for a few months, now i want to mod again, but HMT AND HHT cannot open trial map files!!! it worked back then, but now it refuses to open anything and says "file not found". yes thats right. it will only open something that is NOT 13.7MB, exactly what the trial cant play. it works on my sis's comp, a wndows ex-pee, but i want to know why it all of a sudden stops working on mine, and the other win2k one.

1- What's your operating system?
2- Don't mod trial. Mod real halo. It costs $20... You can support bungie, right?
3- make sure the map your opening is in the same directory as bitmaps.map (trial has that, right?)
4- go to microsoft.com and get the latest version of .net frmework. HMT and HHT run a little faster with better .net framework... Well, they do for me, anyway...

1- win2k, but its not the problem. it worked before.
2- it worked before, and i honestly dont have a big hard drive, halo wouldnt fit.... as for supporting bungie, its a sub-division of microsoft. so no.

3-one of the maps is, but i keep the others in a sub-folder in that folder called made maps.
4- i have visual studio 2005, which came with .net SDK 2.0, and its the latest. if i had an old version HMT wouldnt open.
but wtf... it was working a while ago, now it only is working with certain maps.
but i did uninstall Visual Studio, then install the framework by itself. again, no problem, but may be of use?

waitaminute.... i think .net SDK 2.0 is the problem... in
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.ph ... 7af15a7989 this topic, it says you need 1.1 and nothing higher.... STICKY THAT, MODS! this is probably the problem, so im DLing 1.1 right now, hope it works. or else.... im going to headbutt a small puppy.
EDIT: IT WORKS!

You're supporting Bungie by playing their game, even if it is trial.

if, by supporting, you mean wasting their bandwidth and not paying them, then yes.
well i guess i would support em, but not microsoft. bungie should join nintendo...

net SDK 2.0
You don't want the
Software
Development
Kit, but the actual framework. This problem is addressed 7 posts from the original HMT topic.
Click.
I'll assume that you should've fixed it since you said you're downloading 1.1 but there's no reason to sticky it since all anyone needs to do is read the topic the app is in.

@altimit: SDK comes with the framework, but when i had all the framework, it didnt work, so i reinstalled, but only installed SDK. and it still opened HMT and downloaded mods. but i have DLed framework1.1 and it works.

yeah there is something messed with anything higher than 1.1. they work for a month then stop working.... i installed it on my family comp and not a single map(not even the full halo maps) would work. on my sis' comp, the NAME of the file determined if it would work. honestly. i changed a non-working one to "bloodgulchbugged.map" and it worked.
