Is it possible to darken BG without going through the process of darkening every single bitmap file?

Try messing with the fog maybe? Make it heavier, and change the color to a dark dark gray color? or is that grey....gray..grey...I think it's both.

IF you edit the fog and not the lightmaps, you will still have the original lightmaps, so if you look down it will appear as though it is sunny out. Editing each lightmap is the best way to go.
