Lunging

Ok, basically I want to make a "lunging" sword. Right now I gave the Animation Trigger an extremely low damage and a force of 1, and instead of moving foward it pushes him back, which is lots of fun for flying around the map, but not what I wanted.

I don't want the lunge to do damage, but basically what I'm asking is there anyway to make a bullet shoot from behind the player, so that it would hit the player and push him foward?

Basically something like this: I pull trigger, plasma bullet hits my back, does extremely little damage, I fly foward.


i've heard of XYZ things and i believe they do something about where the projctile shoots from, can anyone help me out on this?

I'd kind of rather not, i've located the XYZ tags, but I guess they don't like negative values, because i put in -z, and it shot randomly all over the map, and -y did the same, as did -x.

Does anyone know of a way to work this?

give the animation trigger a force of -1...or did you try that?

and projectiles that you shoot out dont hit you...(i made the sniper bullet slow, so i shot and jumped in front of it...but it never hit me.)

I guess i never really thought of negative forces.....makes sense, i'll give it a shot.

Following that same theory, could you make a gun that would pull people towards you by giving the projectile a negative value? Hmmm.....

nope, sorry. It didn't move the character, and now that i think about it i have tried the pull gun before and it didn't work, i guess the game doesnt do negative forces.

anyone have any other ideas? :?

hmmmm...try a really high number... like 1E+24 or something...

or just type like 157.9243

that might be so much that the game just reverses it.

ahahahahaha, I did 157.9243, and it launched me across hang em high and then i hit the ground and died, because i didn't take out fall damage yet.

i dunno why, but that was unusually fun. lol.

Im probably just gonna drop the sword idea out, it won't really fit in that well anyway. I'm just gonna replace it with a hidden flying gun, thanks for the idea BTW.

not quite... at first it shot me backwards extremely fast, and then it shot me up diagonally, then i hit a wall, then the cieling, then it overheated and i hit the floor, then i died.
Not exactly a lunge, but extremely fun nonetheless, I should put it in anyway and watch people try to use it. :twisted:

plz dont make it lunge.....it will make halo pc almost as nooby as halo 2

...ok halo2 isnt nooby, halo2 mods made on pc are though..(unless made really good like coag in the outstanding section)

Halo 2 on Xbox/Vista is not nooby, it just contained a few problems they should've fixed. (Plasma Pistol anyone?)

And yes most "Halo 2" Mods are nooby, I happen to know which your talking about and that is a good mod.

However not all Halo 2 mods are nooby, it's just that the people that make them take no time in making them. They replace an assault rifle with a battle rifle model, make the pistol faster and release it. Woohoo

I happen to be making a halo 2/3 weapon mod, Hang Em High with an Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, Covie Carbine, Spartan Laser, Pistol, Magnum, Sniper, plasma rifle, shotgun, "Brute Grenades" (grenades that stick to anything it touches), Plasma Cannon, and previously a very crappy sword, which i now need to replace with something.


God Damn....The model I was working on for 3 hours just got deleted, completely, because i accidently hit close somehow.

well the lunging is nooby

the energy sword is nooby

the homing rockets are nooby

the easy sniping is nooby

takes less skill from the game

i like having to lead with rockets and kill with skill and pride myself on being a good sniper

i play halo 2 and everyone is as good as me its gay

Yes it is much easier to win halo 2 then it is halo 1, The auto-aim on it was way too much. There were obviously some issues, but all games have them. Don't think halo was some super-perfect game, TSK maybe? Now as much fun as it is to get three quick shots and kill someone with a pistol, you have to admit it's overpowered, as was the battle-rifle in Halo 2.

Anyway, let's just hope H3 doesn't have these problems.

uh...your nooby for thinking halo 2 is nooby.

Halo2 has alot of better features...and the rockets are a bit better if you want to show of your skill...hold x instead of pressing R to fight with the sword...and dont hold r when you shoot rockets.

the pistol may be really powerful...but it is only powerful when you can aim well and have the skill to use it : )

What the people for CE did is they moved the marker for bullets to the back so it's behind the chief, so he flies forward instead of backwars. And I don't think you can move markers around.
