HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I'm trying to edit the hex codes on one of the maps I'm working on but every time i hit save(file>save) and play the map it just goes back to normal.
is there anything I'm doing wrong or neglecting to do?

the same thing was happening to me and then i got another hex editor and it worked. Try using cygnus hex editor. Google it.
