Adding "Tags" to PC?

Im not sure if that's what they're called, but what im trying to ask is if there is anyway to Add something like to the map that was never in the .map file.

For example, adding a FP model to a turret so it could be carried.

I was bored one day and switched a turret meta w/ the flamethrower in BG. I could pick it up and fire it like in the H3 beta, but it had inf. ammo (which could easily be fixed in a few seconds.) and no model. Another problem was that it couldn't be dropped or switched w/ another weapon, which might be harder to fix, since it's technically not supposed to be a weapon.

Another example is the Gravity Gun, which has a 3rd person model but no FP, so it won't show up when carried. I believe it also has no projectile, which is another problem.

I don't think there's a way this could be done outside of CE, since it would probably take alot of hacking to assign the models and projectiles to the guns and everything, but is there anyway to do this on PC? If so how and with what programs?

you can give it the fp model of another weapon by swapping the mod2 and antr, then remodel.

Patrickh, how exactly would I do this? I'm assuming i swap the meta of the mod2 and antr from the weapon i want it to look like to the weapon i want it to be.

So if i'm gonna replace rockets with a turret, i would take the mod2/antr of the Rocket Launcer and switch them with the Turret, then when i picked up a turret, the FP model would be the RL, which i could change. Is that about right?


And Same deal w/ the Gravity Rifle i assume?

Edit: Im actually really confused now, before i didn't check what the mod2 was, if theres no FP model for it, where would i swap the metas to?

dont meta swap models...youll exception...use hht to swap models.

yep, find your wep in HHT and swap the fp model and antr to that of a weapon, the model and skin that weapon.

Death~John: No the turret doesnt, thats what i want to do though

So dl HHT, find turret, change mod2 and antr, remodel/reskin? Sounds good i'll tell you how it went.

or you could make your own models in 3ds max/gmax and tag it in halo CE and then convert your tags to PC which would be alot better.

i would do that, and would MUCH rather work in CE then PC, but for some reason whenever i try to start or join a game in CE, it says unable to connect to host, even when i should be host. Which is really weird cause it worked fine in PC.
