I've moved the entire post down to present to you an early version of the Halo 2 shield bar! Please respond! I still need help making this one!






I didn't create that "solid bar" that's part of the Halo 2 Hud. However, I think I can just shade in the outline to deal with that. That's what the other Halo 2 Hud did.

One more error. I think I know how the shield detects how to charge- the charge bar has a gradient that tells it which way to "charge". However, I looked more closely at the original and I could not find a gradient on the bar. Please help!

I've seen the other one- pretty nice, but it isn't the semi-circle-ish one from Halo 2.




I'm trying to create one, and I have three different Health meters to adjust. The only problem is that I don't know how to move the solid block next to the shield charge bar. Any suggestions?





Oops, reversed the colors for the shield bar and solid bar. Well, hopefully you still get the message.

well for the entire HUD, id suggest u get rid of the health bars. since halo 2 dont have it. but for the shield bar, idk how to even move it. so sry, i cant help u on that 1.

I already moved it. I already got the bar to work in the right direction.

The only problem really is that I need to clean up the charge effect. It seems to decharge a little quickly.

not sure, does like the gradient u mentioned change speed?

I believe I was disillusioned. However, I am getting a slanting charge.

I wanted to make sure that when I stretched the Hud vertically, that the gradient remained the same. Though I made the gradient smooth, that's what caused the charging to slant. as soon as I get this right, I'll post the shield bar bitmaps. I'll then post the offsets for the shield bar to get it in the right place. I can't make a ppf for PC because I'm a little busy with the rest of my mod. Note- this was a side project for my mod, I didn't create this bar just for the heck of it. Also, I am trying to get this to work for the Halo 2 Hud posted by Hawaiian Pig so I'll have to add his stuff in with the bitmap.

It should look neat when it's done.

ok, but is it for multiplayer? I try to use itfor multiplayer, and the bitmaps dont even apear! All I see are dots. I cannot even see my health. When I fight, I tell myself "I problably have full heath! Never mind the health pack." And then- *dies* *dies* *dies*. Help? Please?

The gradient on the meter bitmaps needs to go light to dark, with the light on the right and dark on the left, I'd assume. Just make an outline in an image editor, sample the lightest and darkest points, and make a gradient out of it.
