when i made a mod and some people joined, i had put a turret in BG and they could see it and shoot it, but that vehicles in it already, so im not entirely sure. since its not new material for the game to show, they might be able to see the banshee. and if not, them ill just go and shut up now

First off; The Banshee can't fly with no phisics. And if a map is rebuilt joiners without the mod will get an exseption error.

That's not true. I've joined normal servers with a heavily modified map and have been able to play without getting an exception. In fact all the visual swaps I made were still there. I could see warthogs shooting plasma grenades, etc. They obviously weren't REALLY shooting them, but on my client side it looked like they were. I had also swapped turrets with the banshee on the roof of the BG bases and whenever someone would get in the banshee, I would see them warping around in a flying covie turret. Obviously they were really flying the banshee, but on the client side, it looked like a turret. Clients without your mod will see the game normally as it should be. All damage/globals and similiar changes that you made to your map will be discarded and it will use the servers damage/globals for ALL clients.

thanx for the technical angle on things kptk
but yes, it would make for some interesting results having Super Cyborgs flying around

like you said, the client sees the game play according to his version of the map. to you, you would see the mc flying around like superman, but the client would see it as a banshee. and rebuilding the map causes exceptions for the joiner because the server sends them data about a certain object and the client cannot read the data because it is not specific to their map. but if u made the banshee transparent in any way, only people with your mod would be able to see you flying and not the banshee.

just make the banshee invisable (swap shaders and what-not) and the MC does fly around like superman. Ive done it. Its awsome :)

I think i understand what you are saying even more than you do. the client that joins your game server will not be able to play for very long. when your server sends data to the client that the banshee should spawn, his/her map file is unable to load the banshee object and crashes.

Yes but what im saying is that if its REBUILT. What is odd is that I went to a server with a Banshee in danger canyon and the Banshee looked liek a Banshee and played as a Banshee.

if you rebuild a map, and someone joins, they will get an exception error, simple as that

ohh i see. thanks. so Flood/Rain would send exception?? hmm/ this is quite a contradicting arguent...i believe Devins AI mod works with joiners? [Hunter,Sniper,Elite] or did he replace vehicles with them?
