scientific calc?

i read a tut here on meta and it says I need a sceintific calc to change stuff...
but where is the scientific calc on windows XE?

Go to calculator in Accorcies and go to view and change it to Scientific Mode.

What's Windows XE? It's either XP or ME, not both. If you can't find the calculator program, go to start menu>search and search for calc.exe.
If you can't change the view then you need to look harder because there's a view drop-down menu on the tool bar. If you still can't find that,

type Alt, V, S.
