HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

When I open Halo Map Tools, I can mod the files, and when I save them, nothing changes. I think I have my files saved in the wrong places. There is a folder in my documents called Halo, but then the game itself is stored separately. I saved my files in both places, but nothing changes. And when I save the maps in HALO (E:), it tells me there are files waiting to be written to the CD, but it isn't a rewriteable CD. What do I do

you open maps in hmt...wth are you talking about? hmt saves the maps in the C:\program files\microsoft games\halo\MAPS\...you dont have to save it anywhere??
