Falling out of pelicans...

So after playing Mono's AoTCR mod I thought to my self...man I wish I could just dive out of the pelican and float down to the ground. So I've been racking my brain as to how this would be possible. I was thinking maybe I could use the effect of the gravity lift....It just dropped those covie bastard's nice and softly. I'm trying to figure out a way to do this with the available tools, but I am no l33t modder. If yall got any suggestions,flames, or solutions let me know.

You can change globals\falling and globals\distance damage to 0 under Damage in HMT then you can fall and not die.

or go under bipeds and select immune to falling.

I think he is trying to get it so it doesn't hurt you from falling from the pelican only. So if you fall off a cliff you could die but if you fall from a pelican you don't die.

i think he had something going there with that gravi lift. Maybe you could make an invisible one that is constantly following around the pelican on a location on the ground. or is the lift from above? i cant remember. then again, ive never seen the code for the lift, so nvm!

how about you tamber with the damage so you get it to a point where you don't die from a pelican hard landing, but you do die from a fall drom a cliff, you know, moderation.

i'd think it be great if you could do like they do in BF1942. You jump out and have to press a button to open a chute..or activate a grav lift. I know I can turn damage from falls down or off but then people could just jump from any height without worry. I can't find any info on the grav lift either except for particle effects. I'm still working on it though.

That cool, but they already made a mod like this. Nealy every Pelican/Death Island Dedicated server had like immune to falling, so that para-drops were possible (and wicked-ass awesome!).

The grav list is just droping bipeds with modded phisics. If you look at the grav pad in SE there are AI spawns everywhere. It would of been a cool idea.

Well I gave up on the grav lift, instead I turned my plasma pistol into a sorta jet pack. I just increased the force/stun settings of it so that when you jump out of a pelican you can just keep firing at the ground and you have a nice soft landing. Only thing i had to turn off was the thing that caused you to die after falling a certain distance.
P.S. I'm now thinking of a way to make the flamethrower my jet pack.

change all teh bitmaps to cryo glass, and find some way to make the flames go downward, like increasing the gravity multiplier or something...

Speaking of falling...how can you make things die on impact, not after falling a certain distance?

Maybe by only setting distance to 0 damage.

The Gravity Lift is part of the BSP, so it can't be added to the Pelican.

Well I've turned the flamethrower into a sorta jetpack. My goal now is to find a way to make the flame shoot straight down so you don't have to look at the ground. I've tried increasing the wieght and a few other things but still no luck. Once I get that figured out I'd like to remodel the flamer to make it look more like a jetpack..maybe even make it so it goes on you back

Anyway if you've got a solution to my flamer problem post it here.

you have to make the impact damage really high, and changing the falling damage to 0.

For the flame thrower jetpack, I think that you might be able to do it if you played around with spread. Thats the only way I see on how to do it.
