Help Me Please

I download patches from halomods.com, but they appear as papers with the Internet Explorer icon on them as the desktop icon. When I try to run them, nothing happenes. The same happens with everything I get from halomods.com.

What's wrong? Do I need some special program to run them?? Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!!

What is the end tag for the files. Is it .rar .exe .wav .mid whats the end tag. That may help explain what's wrong with the files.

For modding u have to use a program called HHHT(Helpful Halo Hacking Tool) its very simple. you can get it from halomods.com also. before u can do anything with the mods u have to unzip them with a program called winRAR. unzip them in to a folder then go and load them in HHHT. everything else is self explainitory. i had to figure all of this out om my own.
