its weird i make aa back up copy of a map put in it on my desktop but somehow it gets moded.

maybe its because u r modding the the one u put on ur desktop and not the one in the map folder

well somebody doesnt think im smart

i noticed this becuz i wanted to c the orginal bitmaps for a map so i replaced it with the back up but it was also upgraded

yeh, that could be a problem..lol

it is a problem cuz now i dont know if the barricade bit map was even there in the 1st place (in death island)

u responded preety fast can u tell me what the bit map for the barricade in death island is?

i wouldn't know off the top of my head and I don't have halo installed on this machine...

Well, if you accidentally edited the backup, make a new one from the disc.

and designate a folder for backups, and be sure not to mod anything in that folder...

u guys are not reading what im typing i didnt touch the back up it was like i was moding both maps at the same time but i will do what u guys suggested but if u could just do me the favor of finding the bit map for the barricade in death islan i would appreciate it

stuff like that doesn't happen. you must have modded it by accident.

no becuz then i wouldnt c the upgrade when i test the map & i test the map frequently so explain that

well, what are you doing? bitmap/sound/ui stuff? or just plain BG (or whatever map) stuff?

im workin on the insanty island mod, im building a city on the island i made the back up after i got the panals in & when i put the back up back in all the buildings were there

and you're sure you replaced the appropriate map?

i only have one back up file

and you just overwrote the modded map with the backup? insteaad of vice versa?

i rename the back deathisland.map.map so i can tell them apart then once i take the other map out i rename it to its original.
