What do I need to mod the lighting in Halo Trial?

Hey guys, I really want to make the Halo Trial nighttime for an awesome sniper session... where exactly do I need to start? I'm a total newb at this, and have no clue where to begin. A half hour of googling and searching brought me nothing, either.
