Well you'll need HMT v3, then you find the model you want in the map file using HMT and export it as a .obj file. Then I don't know if Milkshape can import .obj without a plugin, but w/e. Load the exported .obj into Milkshape. Then you can only move vertices you can't add any or take any away (until the HEK comes out). Then onced you've finished modifing the model save it or export it as a .obj file and inject it in where you got the original model from in HMT.
Hope that helps.

Hey guys i finally figured out ( i think) the source to my vehicle duplication prob. I duplicated the banshee and now have a new vehicle i will call the jackrabbit. In HMT it is called banshee2.
Here's the problem: Hmt allows me to give my new banshee its own projectiles and change its physics and everyone else but when i try to give it its own skin it automatically injects the skin into the original banshee as well.
Well i was examining my new vehicle in HMT. And finally after hours of looking i think i found out why when i try to give it its own skin it automatically skins the original banshee as well.
I went to the bitmaps tab and i went down to bitmaps\banshee2 and looked up in the right corner where it says offset it has 5A92878. Well when i went to bitmaps\ banshee it also has 5A92878. So somehow my duplicated banshee shares the same bitmaps offset as the original banshee even though i gave it its own bitmaps. So both have the same .dds adress. I have no clue how this happened but it has to be the problem.
Does anyone have any idea how this happened or how I can fix it? Another question is does anyone know what that EOF button does? When i press it it changes the offset. I just need to figure out how to give my vehicle its own bitmap adress.
If you guys can help i would greatly appreciate it. You have no idea how hard or long I've been working on this mod and figuring out how to get past this prob would mean the world to me.
Whew..... I think thats the longest post I've ever written. If anyone wants to help me this mod the are more then welcomed. I'm going to post this topic in multiple forums so i can as much help as possible.

Ok, well, this completely belongs in Skinning and modelling, where I put my topic on the same exact thing and got no help...
So, figure out how to give it a new offset, and you're finished.

Well duplication is not skinning and modelling. If i can find out how to get past this i will release the best mod EVER! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Now can someone tell me how to give it a new offset.

Ok, look... You may have more posts than myself, but that last comment of yours was really stupid and n00bish. Skinning and modelling is exactly what it is. Your problem has little to do with duplicating. You duplicated the vehicle with no problem. You just need to figure out how to fix the SKIN issue.
>.>
And, no, it won't be the best mod ever... one of the MP>SP conversions will be, not a mod with a new vehicle duplicated from the Banshee...

I'm making a RPG launcher mod right now with the same problem, but will it be the greatest mod ever? No... And neither will yours!

You'll see. No i j/k. Still i need to figure this out. I just need to contact deadly_shadow or someone like him. And besides i did post this in the skinning and modelling. Go over to that forum and check.
Gl with your RPG prob.

Hmmm Iron forge did this with his Banshie Wars. So it is possible. I just don't know how.

Possibly hex editor. Did you rebuild it with bitmaps, or just meta, models, and sounds?

Equinox, read the original topic post here.
Then, go read the description for the Skinning and Modelling forums once again.

Post here about skinning, modelling, and related tools such as Photoshop, Gmax, and 3D Max.
I'd say this topic is fine. I think this is more closely related to rebuilding than it is skinning or modelling, because he's having problems with the location of the bitmaps when rebuilding, not discussing what his skin looks like or how he made it, etc..
XwitX, describe in more detail the process you followed to duplicate the banshee bitmap.

You're going to have to know binary or hex to do this one...

Ok guys here is how i made the jackrabbit. I batch extracted deathisland then went to the vehicles folder and copied the entire banshee folder. I renamed it Banshee2. then i went in and renamed all the filenames. Then i rebuilt and it was successful. But when i goto bitmaps the bitmaps\banshee and bitmaps\banshee2 have the same offset. If i can just figure out how to get around this.....
Oh and another thing. can you play with more then 6 types of vehicles in a map at once?

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PRESS EOF BEFORE INJECTING. I answered this in another thread. EOF means end of file, as in it adds the bitmap to the end of the bitmaps.map file. Viola.
And you can have as many vehicles in a map at once.
Also this is COMPLETELY a skinning and modelling topic.
EVERYONE should know and remember what EOF is. If I get anymore ticked off I'll freakin write a tut on it... So few people actually read IF's valuable tut's before his site went kaput.

Yeah well i hate to break it to ya halofan but YOUR WRONG. Pressing EOF made no difference at all.

Then tell me how it worked JUST LIKE MONO SAID IT WOULD when I did it on my civic. EOF is how it's done, ask mono himself, he has said it before and IF had it in his tut. Neither of them would lie and I sure as hell am not.

So, this is a command you type in before injecting?

No, it's a button in HMT when your looking at the bitmap you want to add to the end of the file.

I've never seen it. You think you're really smart don't you? You're making a lot of people mad. I would suggest being nice for a change.
