HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Hey, I'm trying to make my skins black and white, but I don't know how to make it work. I try going to image and making it grayscale in photoshop, but when I try saving as a .dds, it wont save.
Then I tried going into Channels and deleting all of the channels except for 1, but it still wont save, the error message says: "Unsuported Input Format".

Anyone got any ideas?

saturation

first make sure it is only one layer. If it isn't go to a layer and right click flatten image or something. Then, same it as a dxt1 no alpha. It says all alpha info will be lost. just hit ok or something and then you just import it back into the game via hmt.
