I would like to get a team together and work on a military inspired project that resembles modern combat. With Halo's vast landscape capabilities and vehicle physics, I believe this can be achieved. The setting isn't clear yet as I would like to talk to someone interested so we can flesh out the details together. I understand the SDK won't be around for some time, but it is coming, so there is hope for total conversions.
When I first played Halo on the Xbox and landed on the beach with my marines, it was like landing on the beach in Medal of Honor. Once we got off the world turned to shit and the war began. Now some of the immersive elements were taken away because of the colorful blood and aliens, but the staying-factor was there. I imagined instead of Pelicans, but Blackhawk

I'm in. I could be of use. Or not. We'll find out I suppose.
Imagine... something like that with a HALO ENGINE...

When Halo was first announced some time ago and they released screenshots and videos, I was ecstatic and in awe. I thought how amazing could this be? I loved the game they had shown me, but at the same time I imagined my own game using the same fundamentals as Halo did. The first thought that came to mind was standing next to the water, talking with my team mates, having a cigarette and just preparing to attack the enemy. We figure we have the advantage because of the distance, but really we don't know shit and we have no idea what is currently coming for us. The wind slows down, the water goes quiet and all we can hear is the rustling of tank-tracks and laughs. We frantically look around, checking our corners and see nothing, except hear the tank-tracks and laughs. Then out of the corner, on top the mountain we see lights shooting into the sky and a dozen infantry units and two tanks roll over the top and continue to proceed down the hill towards our position, not knowing we are here. I silently signal my law-soldier to pull out his LAW and take aim. Then BANG! A cloud emits from the back of the LAW and slowly dissipates into the air a few feet from us. The LAW traveling so fast smacks right into the first tank sending the men flying up, left, right and down. I rise to my feet, switch on auto and unload my clip into the men laying on the ground who are disoriented, penetrating their flesh taking their lives. My clip runs dry, my Law-soldier kneels lower to reload his weapon and as we are reloading, we hear the metal of the second tank rustling again, I take a peek and see the giant barrel is pointed towards our position. It fires and hits us sending our limbs all over the place.
All of that just from a few screenshots and videos of a game I have been waiting for my entire life. Mind you, the old Halo seemed to have a more authentic military feel to it.

Don't get me wrong, the Halo now is awesome. I play it religiously. I was just pointing out that the old game had more of a military feel to it which is why I fell in love with it and which was the one distributing factor to all of my wet dreams involving the combat possibilities. When I first saw that one video, I think it was one of the first, where three marines run for a jeep, two get in and the driver peels out doing a 180 and the third runs and jumps in as it was moving, I nearly came in my pants

I'm sure I wouldn't ejaculate at the sight of god and certainly wouldn't glorify Halo as being god. And it is called exaggeration.
