				Animated Reticles

I am in the process of making something that hasn't been done before (to my knowledge) and I had an idea when I was messing with reticles.

I made this (idea from bungie for halo2) when I thought, wouldn't it be neat if the reticle spun? Can it be done?

no.... of course you cant have any animations in halo 1 *looks at animation trigger... this is pretty much pointless i guess* >_>
but to answer your question... no animated reticles = no

Couldn't you make a plane in the middle of the screen (in the weapon's model) with the reticle's texture, and animate it to make it spin? >_>

But then it wouldnt really lock on, if you did want it to lock on you have to go thru alotta scripting

You know, not everything can be achieved by scripting.

No, not under normal circumstances. Reticles are .DDS bitmaps, and they are not capable of withstanding animations.

Amen. But if this is possible, I will try to go outside the box for it.

Simply done, but I don't think it can work through DDS manipulation, it needs tif files.
All you do is add more sequences to the sprite bitmap with blue outline so the bitmap core seperates it into a sprite sequence that animates. Same thing done in like explosions.

no big does not mean fat, big means vertical, fat means horizontal.
