Can someone answer this? I posted it in general discussion, but haven't heard a word, heres the post.
j4s[p] wrote:Now I know Halo PC & Xbox have different textures, but how come some people's screenshots show shiny textures.

Mine is just basic, and I have all details on high. Is there a way to enable this? Or is it just some special editing thing?
Thanks!

What do you mean? Do you mean by the way the Ghost or Banshee is shiney?

people apply shaders to things.. the shaders determine that sort or stuff

How would I do that? I've looked in video settings, but "Shader" "Decal", etc. Are disabled, is there a way to re-enable that?

I can change texture & Particle, but not that.

Please help!!

sry, halo must not like your graphics card as its a driver issue, its time for you to get a new grahpics card, then you will see the specular effects (yes its specular and shaders ) unless u geta new driver or find another way i dont think u can do it.. like the top of bg bases should be shiny.. once u get them shiny, then u should be fine

I just downloaded them. The "Decals" setting works, but I'm still stuck on Specular & Shadows.

Would a GeForce FX work? I might get on of those. A cheap good card.

Hmm, then I should be able to do it with mine. :?

Mine is the fourth version. Unless they took that feature away...

Ah, I'll call costumer support.

That is an MX440 card you're talking about, right?
I think they have simply cut those features from the MX cards, therefore making them effectivily cheaper, but also worse.
I have a GeForce 4 ti4800 and all the settings are there.

What!?

Darn those Nvidia nazis... :x

You see, cards with MX or LE in their titles mean that they are the budget cards of their line. They are cheaper than the powerhouses of the titanium series(in the case of GeForce 4), but they offer less features, slower CPU's(on the cards that is), slower RAM and generally worse performance.

So, if you pay less, you get less.

Well, I got a P4 2.4GHz & 768 SDR Ram.

I think I'll get one of the "ti" series. :)

Thanks for clearing this up, though.

Try putting all your graphics on high and turn the brightness up and then apply those shader things!
