im am trying to model the warthogs tires, i am using milkshape and 3ds max, the first thing i do is export the model from HMTv3 to my desktop, then i open the model with milkshape, i use milkshape to export the same file back to my desktop in a new file extension so that 3ds max can open it, then i imported it into 3ds max, i did all my changes i never added nor subtracted and vertex's or indices, then i exported that new model from 3ds max to my desktop again in a new file extention so that milkshap can import it again, then i import it into milkshape, everything looks fine, so then i export it back to my desktop in .obj format so that i can put it into HMTv3, now when i open HMTv3 and click pcmodels vehicles\warthog\warthog then i click tire (0) - 632 vertices -- 872 indices and then i click import, and i select the new .obj file on my desktop, then it says:
the number of vertices in the old and new models do not match, continuing may cause unpredictable results. continue anyway?
then i click yes, contiune anyway, then it gives me an error:
ERROR: can't inject. Indice problem
maximum amount of indices for this model is 872, your model has 1115
but i didnt add or subtrac anything, i just moved the position of things, can anyone help me to figure out y this does this, i am desperate
PLEASE HELP

just export it from milkshape ONCE...then import it into hmt

for now, i think milkshape is the best because halo currently limits modeling abilities. the tools halo let you use when modeling are all in milkshape....i use these: select tool, move tool, scale tool.
are there any other milkshape things halo will let you do? lol

yah, i use milkshape too, but what im trying to do isnt workin in milkshape
ok wut i want to do is make the rear tires look like treads, kinda like on a snowmobile, like an elongated wheel, and i want the front tires to be like skis, like in a snowmobile, but with milkshape its not letting me select the vertexs i want and stuff like that

bah i hate milkshape, even with the importers and exporters its not gonna work correctly, one ull have to make ur object bigger to model it then make it the same exact size again afterwards, also exporting out into hmt will give u problems on indicies and object count sorry, for milkshape make sure u dont have ignore back facing checked when ur tryin to select those vertcies.

alright, ill try that, but i still think someone should make a plugin for 3dsmax, or gmax that import and export .obj files, that will actually work

When you import [into gmax/3ds], it should give you an option to scale the the imported model. That's probably why you think that nothing appears in your viewports, because the model is so small that you can't see it even if you zoom in all the way.

right-click the model
then click scale
then click and drag
but you have to scale it ALOT bigger than the original
so just keep on dragging
