changing vehicle names...

I want to know if there is a tutorial about this in the tuorials secion, i was fooling around with halo trial's blood gulch and changed the name of the warthog to Fastcar...its weird but im going to try and change other thigs as well....

thats what i was thinking, if someone with vb talent and hex experience could make a program that can change names that would be cool...
all the program has to do is search for the main vehicle line...or find the letter string...then the person puts in the letters....the program changes it to hex and puts it in the map. and bam its done. Hopefully someone could make a program that does Text strings (picked up;rounds for), weapons, and vehicles (seats and names).
I took out the turret in the back of a warthog and changed the seat name to back instead of gunner and it said Press E to get in the back seat of the Fastcar. And i changed it so he sat like in a banshee....which was cool since it looked like he was holding on for dear life while the car was going 30+ mph

as far as i understood the second paragraph, hex does just that
i just search for a name(i.e pistol)and it shows a list of places it is used
i .e picked up %d rounds for pistol, picked up a pistol, etc.
bet a program devoted to that might be easier

bingo.... basicly a program that searches for "pistol" and can change it to "cap gun"
all i know is that this could be done if we had the vb power...because all you have to do to not have an exeption is to have 3 blank spaces (00 00 00)(. . .) behind the name so it doesnt have an exeption

and i didn't know you could change the trial. i thought it wasn't allowed.

You cannot add letters to a name.
Pistol has to be like capgun, not cap gun or something, as it has 1 extra character and it won't work.
