HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

My friend is an idiot. He bought a Mac, and thus bought Halo Mac, and since it is a Mac and a Macsoft game, he can't get it to update properly. He is stuck with the equivalent of 1.06.

Anyone know how to keep Halo from updating? I got mine to downgrade back to 1.06, but when I try and check the server list it wants to update.

You can't, if you ever want to play online. You could delete haloupdate.exe, but in all probability it would screw up the game and it would have to be reinstalled. Tell your freind to got to the Microsoft Download Site for Halo (can't remember link) and download the 4.7Mb updater, I had to as well because my computer was being a total shit. That fixed it for me.
