HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

hey i was stuck all day trying to figure out how to add this mod i got..its a .map file, and i cant figure out how to make it show up on my list ..can someone help me please? thanks

is it pc or ce? if it is pc it will be labeled one of the multiplayer map names, in that case just move it to the halo maps folder (c:/program files/microsoft games/halo/maps) and click yes on replacing it... if it has a special name then its for ce...dl halo ce (do a google search) and put it in the halo ce maps folder (same as before but halo custom edition folder instead of halo normal)

its for halo pc..and its a different name then the others, so should i just rename it to anyone of them i want and replace it?

hmm, a .map or ppf, o well if it IS a .map then try renaming it

Took a look at the files there. It's damnation.map and a .bitmaps file. Just use PPF-o-matic or one of those to patch bitmaps.map with the .bitmap file. The damnation.map shouldn't be renamed. It should just go straight into the maps folder. Be sure to backup bitmaps.map and damnation.map. (although I suggest leaving bitmaps.map, and using the one from the CD if it gets corrupted or something.)

tryed it, when i get ready to connect to the server it says the file is missing or currupted, i renamed it as bloodgulch.map

Don't rename it. Or rename it back to damnation.map

oh i got it to work, thanks guys...does anyone have aim that nows how to edit/make maps?

editing maps you just use hmt and hht

but PLEASE make sure you back-up your ENTIRE "C:\program files\microsoft games\halo\MAPS" folder, otherwise you will either have to get a backup of a map from someone when you want to un-install the mod, or re-install halo
